New England Patriots Defeat Los Angeles Rams 13-3 To Win Super Bowl LIII

The New England Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 on Sunday to capture a record-tying sixth Super Bowl title. The victory moves the Patriots into a tie of the all-time mark with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and was also a record sixth Super Bowl triumph for Tom Brady, who at 41 also became the oldest quarterback to win the championship game.

Brady also became the first player in NFL history to win six Super Bowls, finishing the night 21-35 with 262 yards and one interception. The QB now also holds the record for most career wins, with 237. Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri, who is returning for a 24th season in 2019, has 236 career wins.

New England’s defense stepped up, holding the Rams to 14 first downs in the lowest-scoring Super Bowl ever.  In addition, the Rams — who averaged 32.9 points a game this season — are only the second team in Super Bowl history to not earn a touchdown in the title game (the previous team being the Miami Dolphins from Super Bowl 6 in 1972.)
